Records Counter and Public Access

The Anoka County Courthouse hosts public access terminals for electronic case records. The terminals provide the most complete view of the court file, including content not posted to MCRO under court rule. Counter staff can help locate paper files from older case types. The counter handles new case filings, copy orders, and request intake.

  1. Walk in during business hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  2. Tell the counter clerk what record you need. Have a case number or party name ready.
  3. For private data tied to your own case, bring a government photo ID.
  4. Use a public terminal for free electronic browsing of the court record.
  5. Pay for copies or certified copies at the counter; the Copies of Court Documents line is (763) 760-6550.

For online search, see court records, which walks through MCRO Case Search, Document Search, and the case category filters.

How to Request Certified Copies of Anoka County Court Documents

Certified copies are official court-issued copies with an Anoka County District Court seal. They are required for many legal uses, such as filing a marriage record with another agency, requesting a name change after a felony conviction, or registering a foreign judgment. Use Court Administration; MCRO does not issue certified copies.

  1. Identify the case number. MCRO Case Search can confirm the number by party name.
  2. Call the Copies of Court Documents line at (763) 760-6550 to confirm the current fee and payment method.
  3. Request the copy in person at the courthouse counter, by mail to 2100 Third Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303-2489, or by other method allowed by Court Administration.
  4. Include the case number, the document name, and payment.
  5. Pick up or receive the certified copy by mail.
